I guess my best advice would be to go back to the basics – all those skills you learned in middle school really do work. Remember that no matter what your topic, you are telling a story, so read it out loud to see if it is compelling, if the topics tie together nicely, and if it is a story worth listening to. Be yourself in your writing and have fun.

As far as free vs. paid platform is concerned, I have seen many people have great success with free options (WordPress, Google Blogger, etc.). I would recommend starting with a free version as you develop out your goals and vision. As you build out your site, you will soon discover whether the free version is robust enough to meet your needs or if you will need to upgrade to a premium paid option to meet your goals.

I hate Pandora. Maybe I wasn’t doing it right, but it never played the kind of music I wanted. I would try to seed it so that it would play stuff I liked but I was never satisfied with the result.

I like that Jango plays mostly artist I pick, but also throws in its own recommendation. I also like the fact that every ten plays I get some independent musician. I get a kick out of discovering something new and good–that is a nice surprise, like some band from Norway or something whom I would have never heard before.

The other thing that bothers me about Pandora is this nanny like attitude like they know music better than me. When they make claims of having these so called experts analyze the songs I call BS.
